اعترف فرانك ريبيري نجم المنتخب الفرنسي لكرة القدم بأن أداء فريقه اتسم بالصبغة الدفاعية خلال المباراتين اللتين لعبهما أمام كل من رومانيا وهولندا في كأس الأمم الأوروبية الثالثة عشر (يورو 2008) المقامة حاليا بالنمسا وسويسرا.

وقال ريبيري في مؤتمر صحفي اليوم الأحد من مقر إقامة فريقه في سويسرا "من الضروري ألا تستقبل شباكنا أهدافا ولكن ينبغي أن نتحرر بعض الشيء ونلعب للهجوم. لقد طورنا من الأداء أمام هولندا ولكن الهزيمة قاسية. سنحاول الفوز على إيطاليا للعبور إلى الدور الثاني".

ولعبت فرنسا حتى الآن مباراتين في المجموعة الثالثة حيث تعادلت سلبيا مع رومانيا قبل أن تتلقى صفعة قوية بالهزيمة 1/4 أمام هولندا مما جعلها مطالبة بالفوز على إيطاليا بطلة العالم في الجولة الأخيرة يوم الأربعاء المقبل.

وأوضح ريبيري أنه في الأوقات العصيبة مثل التي يعيشها المنتخب الفرنسي حاليا يفضل الاتصال بالنجوم الكبار لالتماس الدعم النفسي مثل الأسطورة المعتزل زين الدين زيدان.
