أعرب نجم المنتخب البرازيلي كاكا الفائز بجائزة أفضل لاعب في العالم عن رغبته في الاشتراك مع بلاده في منافسات كرة القدم بدورة الألعاب الأولمبية (بكين 2008) المقررة في أغسطس المقبل رغم معارضة مسئولي فريقه الإيطالي ميلان .

وقال كاكا في مقابلة مع قناة "سبورت" البرازيلية اليوم الثلاثاء :
" ليس ذنبي أن اللجنة الأولمبية الدولية والاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم (فيفا) منح النادي الحق في منعي من المشاركة في الأولمبياد. ماذا يمكنني أن أفعل ؟ نقلت رغبتي في المشاركة إلى مسئولي ميلان " .

وأبدى ميلان استعداده للسماح للبرازيل بالاستعانة بمهاجمه ألكسندر باتو لكونه في السن الأولمبي (تحت 23 عاما) بعكس كاكا الذي كان سيستدعى ضمن ثلاثة لاعبين يسمح بضمهم من فوق السن المذكور طبقا للوائح الفيفا .

ومنعت الإصابة كاكا من التواجد في معسكر المنتخب البرازيلي الذي سيلتقي مساء غد الأربعاء بضيفه الأرجنتيني ضمن التصفيات المؤهلة لكأس العالم عام 2010 في جنوب أفريقيا
