قال حارس المرمى اليوناني أنطونيوس نيكوبوليديس إنه سينهي مسيرته مع اللعب الدولي عقب مباراة المنتخب اليوناني أمام نظيره الأسباني يوم الأربعاء المقبل في الجولة الثالثة الأخيرة من مباريات المجموعة الرابعة بالدور الأول من بطولة كأس الأمم الأوروبية (يورو 2008) المقامة حاليا في النمسا وسويسرا.

وأوضح نيكوبوليديس /37 عاما/ اليوم الأحد أنه اتخذ هذا القرار قبل المباراة التي خسرتها اليونان أمام روسيا صفر/1 مساء أمس السبت.

وارتكب نيكوبوليديس خطأ في مباراة أمس تسبب في إحراز المنتخب الروسي هدف الفوز وتأكد خروج اليونان حاملة اللقب من الدور الأول.

وقال نيكوبوليديس في معسكر المنتخب اليوناني في النمسا "توصلت إلى هذا القرار منذ فترة طويلة.
